BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao vows to fight Formula-E race case legally, denies corruption allegations.
HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao said he would utilise all opportunities given by the laws of the land and the Constitution in facing the Formula-E race case foisted against him by the Congress government.
Speaking to newspersons here on Tuesday (January 07) night, he said he would move the Supreme Court on the quash petition disallowed by the High Court and also would move the High Court on attending the ACB examination accompanied by his advocate. He stated he would seek protection from the possibility of issuing “confessional statements in his name by ACB” as it was done with Patnam Narender Reddy in the Lagacherla case.
He reiterated that no corruption had taken place in the Formula-E race case and the decisions pertaining to it were taken only to build the brand image of Hyderabad and to make the City a hub for electric vehicles in the years to come. He stated that he would attend the examination by ACB on January 9 and the questioning by the Enforcement Directorate on January 16 in case the High Court allows him to attend it accompanied by his lawyer.
Mr. Rama Rao said he was ready to reply to every question as he had nothing to hide. He asked the BRS ranks not to get worked up with the overenthusiasm being shown by certain media houses in the Formula-E race case and suggested that the media houses pay at least half of such attention on the broken promises of the Congress.
On the electoral bonds given to the BRS, he said every political party had received them and the Greenko company had given donations to the Congress, the BJP, the TDP, YSR Congress and several other parties. Citing the case of Megha Engineering, he said it had given huge donations to the Congress party and whether it would mean that the company along with Raghava Constructions had bagged Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme as a quid pro quo measure.
The Congress government was also planning to give ₹4,000 crore project to bring Godavari water from Kondapochamma Sagar to twin reservoirs of the City, he said adding that whether giving Musi Rejuvenation project to Megha was also a part of the quid pro quo measure.
