Kota: Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests cop for accepting bribe of Rs 50,000

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), posted at Kanwas police station in Kota for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 on Sunday.
On Sunday, a team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Kota, arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The ASI was posted at Kanwas police station in Kota.
According to the bureau, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 2.50 lakh for putting a final report (FR) on a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 420 against the father of the complainant in the matter.
Later on, a settlement was made at Rs 1.50 lakh after negotiations.
ASI Ramratan Khatik, aged 57, demanded a bribe from a resident, Chandra Prakash Saini, aged 38, on Wednesday.
The bribe amount was settled at Rs 1.50 lakh. The accused ASI had asked the complainant to give him Rs 50,000 in cash and a blank cheque for the remaining amount, said ASP, ACB Kota, Chandrasheel Thakur.
The complainant informed the ACB about the incident and immediate action was taken against the accused. ACB recovered Rs 50,000 from ASI’s pocket.
Further investigation is still on.
