Bidhan Nagar Commissionarate have filed a police complaint after a woman alleged that a sex racket is being operated in the garb of a spa centre in the Salt Lake area of Kolkata. The victim claimed that she was appointed as a manager of two branches of Prabhasa spa centre.
According to the victim, she joined the spa centre on March 24 on a monthly salary of Rs 30,000 but the very next day, she was allegedly forced to establish physical relationships with the clients. She further claimed that she was mentally and sexually harassed, adding that the spa owner also threatened her.
The woman in her police complaint said, "On March 24, I was appointed as manager of Prabhasa spa by its owner, Babai Ghosh, with a monthly salary of Rs 30,000. I had no idea about what was the exact nature of job. I visited both BE 349 and FD 14 branches with the owner and I joined the next day."
She added, "Few customers had come and the manager, Asmita, asked for my rate, to which I refused. The very same day, an assistant manager had sent me into a customer's room forcefully and I couldn't even dare to explain what happened inside the room."
According to the woman, she received a phone call from owner Babai Ghosh and was asked to leave the management team. She alleged that the owner asked to see how the work goes for at least one and half month and handle a couple of clients in a month.
She added, "I was also asked to clean my rooms after clients left. I approached the police but they did not lodge a complaint, so I went up to the Commissionerate."
