Kolkata police to start final inspection of puja pandals from today

With only less than a week left for Durga Puja, Kolkata police will begin its final inspection of puja pandals from Monday with the help of utility providers including the fire brigade and CESC.
With Durga Puja just around the corner, Kolkata police will start the inspection of puja pandals in the city from Monday. The team will be led by Joint CP (Headquarter), Subhankar Sinha Sarkar.
Along with the help of other utility providers like the fire brigade and CESC, Kolkata police will ensure that the curbs imposed by the Calcutta high court are followed.According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), for the first day of inspection, the team will visit the 18 biggest puja pandals in the city, which are located either close to busy crossings or are visible right from the road. Notably, one pandal in Behala struggled to cope with the rush last year.
