
Kolkata: Minimum temperature recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius; mercury to dip next week

On Monday, the minimum temperature in Kolkata settled at 20 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal. Meanwhile, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 22.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature settled at 20.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal in the city. Reportedly, the city has been receiving overnight showers which continued till Monday evening, leaving extensive areas across north, central, east and Behala waterlogged.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), Met officials have forecast a further dip in mercury by next week in the city, saying that the minimum temperature may drop to 15 degrees Celsius by December 13-14.
