
Kolkata Metro to run 10 more trains to cope with increasing footfall

Instead of 220 trains, commuters will be provided 230 daily services. These additional trains will be operational every Saturday starting today. Metro authorities are also planning on increasing its services on weekdays.
Kolkata Metro has initiated to run ten additional services every Saturday starting from today. With this change, instead of 220 services, commuters will be provided 230 daily services, 115 up and 115 down.
According to a report published in the Hindustan Times (HT), in addition to this, the metro authorities are also planning on increasing its services on weekdays further to 276- 138 up and 138 down, starting from December 27. The purpose of this change is to cope with the expected rise in footfalls around Christmas and New year festivities.
