Kolkata fire: FIR lodged; war of words breaks out between TMC and BJP

A day after a blaze at an Eastern Railway office building in Kolkata killed nine people, police lodged an FIR in connection with the incident even as a war of words broke out between the TMC and BJP on Tuesday. While Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held the Railways accountable for the tragedy, BJP said the negligence of the state government on fire safety led to the loss of lives. Mamata Banerjee, who had rushed to the spot after the fire broke out on the 13th floor of the New Koilaghat building on Strand Road, accused the Railways of not cooperating with the fire brigade personnel.More Related News
