Vikram Dantani, an autorickshaw driver from Ahmedabad who had hosted Arvind Kejriwal for dinner, showed up at PM Modi's rally in Ahmedabad. He said that he is a big fan of PM Modi and a staunch supporter of his party, BJP.
Days after hosting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his home for dinner, autorickshaw driver Vikram Dantani was again in the news as he said that he is a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a staunch supporter of his party, BJP, PTI reported. Vikram Dantani showed up at PM Modi's rally in Ahmedabad and was seen taking the newly-inaugurated metro flanked by BJP workers, wearing the party cap and a saffron scarf.
On September 13, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal held a town hall meeting with autorickshaw drivers as part of the AAP's campaign in Gujarat ahead of the year-end Assembly elections. During the interaction, Dantani urged Kejriwal to have dinner at his house, which was accepted by the Delhi CM. The AAP convenor travelled to his home in his autorickshaw after accepting the dinner invite at the meeting.
When confronted by the media, Dantani said, "I was told that it was a union meet of auto drivers (Ekta Union). I wasn't aware that it was an Aam Aadmi Party meet. I was told the meet was held to discuss issues faced by auto drivers. A common man can be anybody's fan, be it Kejriwal or PM Modi. I am not just a fan of Arvind Kejriwal but a fan of everyone who does good work."

"I invited Kejriwal for dinner because I was asked to do so by our union leaders. "I came here (for the rally) because I am a huge fan of Modiji. I have been with the BJP since the beginning and always gave my vote to the BJP in the past. I am not saying this under any pressure," Dantani was quoted by PTI as saying.
Manoj Sorathiya, AAP General Secretary, said, "A few days back, an auto driver had invited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to his home for dinner. BJP workers found him and made him wear their party scarf and took him to PM Modi's rally. We had stated earlier that the auto driver is not associated with AAP and he is not a party worker. It is now clear that AAP is scared of the BJP."
