KMC introduces WhatsApp facility for birth, death certificate related services

The newly introduced WhatsApp facility will replace the existing ‘drop box’ system of applying for birth or death certificates in Kolkata.

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has recently announced that the people of the city can now easily apply for their birth or death certificates through a WhatsApp facility provided by the civic body. They can even use this facility to rectify any errors or mistakes in their certificates.

Reportedly, one will just have to make a request on a WhatsApp number- 8335999111 provided by the civic body to book a slot, following which the applicant will be able to meet a designated official at the civic headquarters to get his/her work done.
