Singing prodigy KK passed away on May 31, post a live concert in Kolkata. He was 53. As per India Today TV, KK was declared ‘brought dead’ to Kolkata’s CMRI hospital. The late singer’s relatives were in Kolkata to take his mortal remains to Mumbai. KK’s body was kept in Kolkata’s Rabindra Sadan. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was present at Sadan to pay her last respects. The singer’s funeral will take place in Mumbai on June 2.
KK breathed his last on May 31 in Kolkata. The late singer’s mortal remains were honoured with a gun salute on June 1 in Kolkata. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee arrived at Kolkata’s Rabindra Sadan to pay her last respects. She was also seen speaking to KK’s family. As per the latest update, KK's family will take his mortal remains via a flight to Mumbai at 5.15 pm on June 1. The flight is scheduled to land at 7.45 pm in Mumbai. His body will be cremated on June 2 in Mumbai. Meanwhile, his mortal remains will be kept at home in a freezer.
KK fell ill after his performance at Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha on May 31. The playback singer collapsed after his second consecutive concert in Kolkata and was rushed to a private hospital in the city. He was declared "brought dead" to Kolkata's CMRI Hospital around 10 pm, hospital authorities told India Today TV. KK is survived by his wife Jyothy and two children.
