KK didn't want to come out of car as auditorium was overcrowded, says singer who performed with him in last concert

After KK's untimely demise on May 31, singer Subhalakhmi Dey revealed that the singer was not willing to come out of his car seeing the crowd outside Nazrul Mancha.
Singer KK passed away on May 31 in Kolkata. He had two consecutive performances in the city. KK got unwell after he returned to his hotel post the concert. He was soon rushed to the hospital where he was declared 'brought dead'. Singer Subhalakhmi Dey, in an exclusive chat with India Today TV, revealed that the singer was not willing to come out of his car seeing the crowd outside Nazrul Mancha.
In an exclusive conversation with India Today TV, singer Subhalakhmi Dey revealed that the late singer didn't want to get out of the car after seeing the crowd outside the auditorium. She performed at the Nazrul Mancha auditorium on May 31 before KK's concert. She claimed, KK saw the crowd outside the auditorium and at first he didn't want to get out of his car at Najrul Mancha."
Subhalakhmi, who performed that afternoon before KK show at Najrul Mancha auditorium in Kolkata, added, "There was too much crowd outside of the auditorium at the time KK arrived. KK arrived at 5.30 PM. At first, he said if they can't remove the crowd 'I won't get out of the car'."
The auditorium was overcrowded that day, she claimed. Subhalakhmi further revealed, "No one from outside was allowed in the green room. I was allowed. He spoke to me for a couple of minutes. He was absolutely okay then. I also took a selfie with him. There was no discomfort in him by then."
KK also requested the stage organisers to dim the stage lights in the middle of his performance. She said, "It is obvious we get sweaty if the hall is overcrowded. Once he asked to dim the stage lights. But, if he could say that he was feeling uneasy, we would have stopped the show".
KK's mortal remains were brought to Kolkata's Rabindra Sadan. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee arrived to pay her last respects. CM Mamata Banerjee had also expressed her desire to see KK one last time. Earlier, she had also said that she would travel to Andal airport from Bankura and take a flight to Kolkata on Wednesday. KK's mortal remains were honoured with a gun salute.
KK was laid to rest in Mumbai on June 2. His family and friends from the industry had gathered outside the Versova Hindu cremation ground to bid him a tearful goodbye.
