Condolences poured in Friday on social media after two Kingston Peninsula brothers died in an early morning crash.
Devin Sabean and Dylan Vautour are being remembered as wonderful men gone from the community too soon.
The crash took place at around 1 a.m. on Pickwauket Road, which connects the Kingston Peninsula with Hampton, according to RCMP.
The brothers, 22 and 24, were both from Kingston, RCMP said, and died at the scene as a result of their injuries.
"An RCMP collision reconstructionist was consulted, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's Office attended the scene," the RCMP release said. "Autopsies have been scheduled to determine the men's exact causes of death."
Alyssa Rodgerson said Dylan leaves behind a young daughter, who is her goddaughter.
"He loved his daughter … more than life itself," Rodgerson said. "He was a great friend and an even better dad.
"His spirit was contagious, he laughed hard, loved hard, and made many long-lasting friendships along the way."
She said there aren't many people in the small community who don't know the brothers, who were avid motorcycle and car enthusiasts.
"They were always down for a party or an adventure, they have a way of bringing the good times with them," she said.
On Friday afternoon, Kiara Chisholm was at the scene of the crash, which is just past a bend in the road and a kilometre from Kredl's Corner Market.
She said she went to school with the brothers and described them as "the kindest, most loving, sweetest men ever."
Hampton Fire Department Chief Mike Raeburn said two of the younger firefighters who responded to the crash knew the brothers.
He said he's "monitoring them quite closely," to make sure they're OK. He said the department has mental health resources, and firefighters have regular debriefs "to give them a chance to debrief so, you know, they don't have to keep it all bottled up inside."
