Kingfisher loan fraud: Bombay HC scraps travel restrictions imposed on former SBI chairman

The former SBI chairman, Om Prakash Bhatt (69), told the court he did not know that travel restrictions were imposed upon him by CBI. He was detained at the Mumbai Airport on Sept 29, 2018 by immigration officials.
In a relief to former chairman of SBI, who was called for questioning by CBI in connection with loans to Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines, Bombay High Court has set aside the travel restrictions imposed on him but asked him to keep the agency informed about his trip details. Om Prakash Bhatt (69) told the court that he did not know that travel restrictions were imposed upon him by the agency. He was detained at the Mumbai Airport on Sept 29, 2018 by immigration officials. Bhatt was later released and directed to contact CBI on a particular mobile number. According to Bhatt, when he made attempts to contact on the number, there was no response. He tried to communicate with the agency through other mediums but got no response. He then decided to file the petition before the court.More Related News
