Kin thrash teacher, blacken his face for sexually harassing Class 10 girl in Punjab

Accusing him of sexually abusing the minor, family members of a Class 10 girl in Punjab's Phagwara thrashed her teacher and blackened his face before handing him over to the police.

Family members of a minor girl in Punjab's Phagwara thrashed a school teacher before handing him over to the police on Thursday. Alleging that the teacher had sexually harassed the Class 10 girl, her kin have now filed a case in this regard with the local police. The incident took place at a private school in Phagwara in Kapurthala district of Punjab. Parents of the girl, along with kin, barged into the school and thrashed the teacher while also blackening his face with ink. Identified as one Vikas Kumar, the teacher was then handed over to the police. He has been booked under section 354-A (punishment for sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Inspector Navdeep Singh.
