Kid Rock says the unlikely meeting he orchestrated between President Donald Trump and political commentator Bill Maher — one of Trump’s biggest critics — left “everyone’s mind blown.”
While appearing on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, the Republican musician, who previously boasted the dinner would “unite” the country, shared details on the meeting that took place Monday at the White House. The trio was also accompanied by Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White.
The gathering came after Rock raised eyebrows on social media the day before for donning a flashy red, white and blue ensemble to the Oval Office as Trump signed an executive order addressing inflated concert ticket resale prices.
“It was so pleasant,” Rock said of the White House dinner between Trump, Maher and White. “The most shocking thing to me was Bill is obviously a big liberal and hard on the president, but he’s donated a lot of money to other politicians, Biden, Clinton, Obama...[Maher] had never been to the White House. The president was so gracious.”
Maher actually interviewed Barack Obama in the Roosevelt Room back in 2016.
