Kichcha Sudeep recently revealed that filmmaker SS Rajamouli narrated Eega in less than 10 seconds. He did not have any reservations about taking up a negative role in the fantasy revenge drama.
Kichcha Sudeep emerged as a household name in Telugu cinema when he played the role of a charming and manipulative womaniser in SS Rajamouli's Eega (2012). The film proved to be a commercial success and received rave reviews, with critics praising the screenplay. Sudeep has now revealed that he took it up as he experienced "child-like excitement" about working with the maverick filmmaker. He added that he wasn't hesitant about playing a negative role in the flick. Eega is a fantasy revenge drama, produced by Sai Korrapati under the Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram banner.
Kichcha Sudeep received rave reviews when he played a cold-hearted womaniser in Eega (Naan Ee in Tamil), one of the biggest releases of his career. The film did well at the box office and was soon dubbed in Hindi as Makkhi. Kannada cinema's Abhinaya Chakravarthy has now revealed that he didn't have second thoughts about playing a negative role in Eega.
"I didn't look forward to something huge when I went to meet Rajmouli sir. He narrated the plot in less than 10 seconds and I just accepted it at that time without thinking that the character was negative," he added.
The star further said that he took up the Ram Gopal Varma-helmed Rann as he wanted to share screen space with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
"Similarly, when Rann came, I was getting a chance to work with Mr Bachchan. There was this childlike excitement about working with these two cinema greats. So, I always look for that excitement as I believe that's what works for me. I don't know if I should have made some calculated moves, but right now I am happy with whatever I have," said Sudeep.
Kichcha Sudeep is currently in the limelight because of his latest movie, Vikrant Rona, which opened in theatres on July 28. Director Anup Bhabndari's latest magnum opus is a fantasy adventure thriller that features the mass hero in the role of a hunter. Sudeep will host Bigg Boss Kannada OTT, which is slated to premiere on Voot on Saturday, August 6.
