Tribune News Network The Khalifa bin Sheail Al Kuwari-owned Purebred Arabian Lady Princess (General x Nacree Al Maury) added another Group One success to her name, with a blistering performance in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (Gr1 PA) at Abu Dhabi on Sunday.Trained by Thomas Fourcy, the five-year-old mare reversed the placings with her stablemate Hoggar de lâArdus (Mister Ginoux) owned by HE Sheikha Reem bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, following the pairâs incredible duel at ParisLongchamp two months ago in the Qatar Arabian World Cup (Gr1PA). Lady Princess is now a five-time Gr1 PA winner and was given an excellent waiting ride by jockey Jim Crowley.Held in, in last position, as she stepped back up in trip, Lady Princess travelled with supreme ease through the early part of the 2,200m contest. A solid tempo was set at the head of the field by early pacemaker Soko (Nieshan). As the fourteen-runner field turned out of the final bend, Lady Princess began to slalom through runners and tracked a brave route against the rail. Hoggar de lâArdus took the lead inside the final 300m and was sent for home by Maxime Guyon. Still travelling strongly and working her way up to the leaders, Lady Princess was angled out widest of all to challenge. Sweeping clear of Hoggar de lâArdus inside the final 150m, Lady Princess went on to score easily by three lengths. Hoggar de lâArdus finished two lengths clear of the Yas Horse Racing Management-owned and Frederic Sanchez-rained Haayan (Munjiz), who finished further two and a half lengths in third under Ioritz Mendizabal.Lady Princess is by multiple Group One winner General (Amer), who stands at Haras du Grand Courgeon in France for Umm Qarn, and is out of Group 3 PA winner Nacre Al Maury (Kesberoy), who also produced Group 1 PA winner and stallion Mister Ginoux.
