CPM's V Sivadasan and John Brittas and PV Abdul Wahab of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) have been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. The victory of all three candidates was announced as there were no other candidates and Kerala Assembly Secretary SV Unnikrishnan Nair handed over the victory certificates to the new Rajya Sabha (RS) members. The polls scheduled on the 30th of April were cancelled because there were only three candidates for the three Rajya Sabha seats. The nomination of K Padmarajan, a native of Tamil Nadu, was rejected on scrutiny as it did not get the support of 10 MLAs.More Related News
