KR Vijayan, a Kochi-based tea stall owner, whose trips across the world with his wife earned them fame, died of a heart attack on Friday morning. The couple had recently returned from a tour of Russia. Kerala Tourism salutes K R Vijayan (Balaji), the intrepid traveller who embarked on his final journey today. KR Vijayan and his wife Mohana owned a tea stall "Sree Balaji Coffee House" in Kochi’s Gandhinagar. The two used to save Rs 300 daily from the earnings of their tea shop to travel the world. They would also take loans from banks to sponsor their trips.
