The pilot submitted by the police for the project has been approved by the state government. It will be first implemented in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Thrissur and Kozhikode.

The students will be counselled both online and offline. Depending on the case, those who need more support will be offered offline counselling at the various district centres. This is the first time anywhere in the country the police have come up with a digital de-addiction programme.
The project is a result of frantic panicked calls from parents to the police seeking aid. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Manoj Abraham, said that the police took the lead to design such a project as it is getting hundreds of frantic calls from worried parents in each police station, seeking help to save their children from online games and porn sites.
He added that the police is in touch with IT companies about developing suitable software for the project.
