Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has slammed the Kerala government over alleged political interference in appointments of Vice Chancellors at various state universities.
The relationship between the Kerala government and Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has once again soured as the latter slammed alleged political interference in the appointment of Vice Chancellors at state universities.
In a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan urged him to amend the acts which would make the CM the chancellor of all universities. He also expressed displeasure at how things are being run in universities all over Kerala."Whatever be the government's response, I cannot stand and tolerate this political interference. If something concrete comes out of this, I may change my position on the issue. As of now, I have written to the CM asking him to amend the act as it is not a constitutional position,” said the Governor.
