A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus has been converted into a classroom.
A rundown Kerala bus has been transformed into a two-level classroom which is equipped with facilities like air-conditioning to facilitate learning and recreation for Government Lower Primary School.
The double-decker appearing classroom has been constructed from one of two low-floor buses which were amongst hundreds of such buses which were meant to be scrapped by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
The buses designed to give a new ambiance for students to learn were donated to the school, which is situated in the Government Teachers Training Institute (TTI), Manacaud campus.
The classroom on wheels has facilities like a TV, air-conditioner, chairs with multi-coloured tables, benches, and shelves for books.
Additionally, the bus-turned classroom retains its steering wheel along with the driver’s seat so students can play.
The upper level has been designed for reading and recreation.
The sides of the bus are painted light blue and yellow, with drawings of birds, trees, animals, and books, among other things — to attract pre-primary students.
