In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Kerala gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh slammed M Sivasankar for the claims he made against her in his book.
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Swapna Suresh, accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, spoke about her relationship with top bureaucrat M Sivasankar. She alleged Sivasankar's involvement in the entire case after the latter published a book 'Aswathamavu Verum Aana' claiming innocence.
In his book, Sivasankar claimed that the iPhone which links him to the case was gifted to him by Swapna Suresh and that he had no idea about her involvement with gold smuggling. He further claimed that he merely helped Swapna open a locker and was unaware of anything else with regards to their joint locker.
Swapna Suresh addressed the claims made by Sivasankar and claimed that they have had a close relationship and that he is fully aware of the details of the gold smuggling case."Whatever I know, he also knows. Right now I think he wrote the entire thing to manipulate everyone. I would have applauded him if he did the right things. If he had written A-Z in this, he would have my respect," Swapna Suresh told India Today.
Swapna Suresh alleged that the NIA involvement in the case is a plan hatched by M Sivasankar to clear his name and close her mouth.
"I did not try to contact him. I came to know from reliable sources and through my family members that Sivasankar Sir is the one who made this customs issue or offence or crime. He was the mastermind to bring NIA into the case and bring terrorist elements so that I will forever keep my mouth shut. They knew I won't get out easily. My family members and reliable sources told me his plan is to have the investigation end with me," said Swapna.
Swapna Suresh feels that the book came at an inopportune time when things were settling down.
"He has already washed his hands off. He is back in his job. People with power and personality like this can achieve anything. Thousands and millions of people follow them and people like us struggle to earn daily bread. After all that happened he is publishing a book. Maybe his intention is to get a clean chit. I don't agree with it. I haven't read the book yet. I am just waiting for it,” Swapna Suresh said.
