Kerala Police has detained several CPI (M) youth wing protesters for forcing their way into the Cantonment House.
As things got tense between Congress and the Communist Party in Kerala over the gold smuggling case on Tuesday, police officials detained several members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), a youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
The youth were trying to force their way into the Cantonment House, the official residence of the Opposition leader VD Satheesan.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), BJP’s youth wing, is likely to hold a protest seeking the CM’s resignation over the gold smuggling case in Kerala at 5pm on Tuesday.
Days after Swapna Suresh, an accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, revealed the involvement of the Kerala CM and his officials, various groups of Kerala Congress have been protesting seeking the resignation of chief minister Pinnaryi Vijayan.
Former Kerala minister and CPI (M) leader KT Jaleel had filed a complaint with the police against the allegations leveled by the Kerala gold smuggling case accused, Swapna Suresh.
The gold smuggling case prime accused, Swapna Suresh, on Monday filed a plea in the Kerala HC to quash an FIR filed by the Kerala Police against her alleging conspiracy against the Vijayan government by raising "baseless allegations."
