Kejriwal house vandalism: eight persons arrested by Delhi police

Eight persons were identified through CCTV footage as taking part in the protest by BJYM workers outside the Delhi Chief Minister’s house.
Eight persons have been arrested by the police in connection with the vandalism incident at Delhi Chief Minister’s Arvind Kejriwal’s house on Wednesday, senior officers said.
This comes after DCP (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said that eight persons were identified through CCTV footage as taking part in the protest outside Mr. Kejriwal’s house by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers against the Chief Minister’s remarks on “Kashmir Files” in the Assembly.
The protesters broke barriers installed by police outside the residence and defaced Mr. Kejriwal’s house by throwing paint outside the door. The DCP said that the BJYM workers also broke a boom barrier arm and vandalised several CCTV cameras.
A case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to causing obstruction to a public servant and under The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act was lodged against unknown persons while 70 were detained from the spot.
Senior police officers said that several teams had been deployed to trace and arrest other identified persons.
