Kavita Chawla won Rs 1 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. Here's how she wishes to utilise her prize money.
Kavita Chawla, a housewife from Kolhapur, became the first crorepati of Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. The lady, who has only studied till 12th grade, is elated with her victory on the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Kavita spoke about creating a record by winning Rs 1 crore on KBC 14. "Ek record ban gaya! I wanted to be the first woman from Kolhapur to become a crorepati. And vahi koshish mein main itne saal se lagi rahi. That dream came true," said Chawla.
Kavita further told IndiaToday.in that becoming the first crorepati of the 14th season was like a cherry on the cake for her. As she continued her conversation with us, Chawla revealed how she prepped to be a part of KBC 14.
"As a part of the preparation, I didn't refer to any specific book or channel. Whatever I used to teach my son, I would keep those books to study. I would underline the important things and refer to them. I used to follow KBC and knew what kind of questions were asked. So whenever I studied, I would mark the important things," she said.
When asked how she would utilise the prize money, Kavita added, "I would give first priority to my son's education. I want to send him abroad for his further studies. It is his dream to study abroad and make India proud."
Kavita went on to reveal her purpose for participating in this game show. "The main purpose of participating in Kaun Banega Crorepati 14 was self-respect and dignity. The game isn't just about winning money. I have seen the maan-shamaan that one gets from this platform and it was my dream to earn maan-shamaan through his show and it is valuable to me. I was confident that I would become a crorepati this time because, as the show's title suggests, everyone wants to become a crorepati. It was my dream too. This time, I went with the confidence that I would return home as a crorepati," she said, on a concluding note.
