In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Rahul Dev opened up about working with SS Rajamouli. The actor revealed people were unaware of the RRR director when they worked together back in the day.
SS Rajamouli is one of the most celebrated directors in the Indian film industry. Today, several celebrities wish to work with the man who treated us to three blockbusters - Baahubali, Baahubali 2 and RRR. In fact, the director's film RRR has crossed the lifetime box-office business of Baahubali.
However, back in the day, things were different. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Bollywood actor Rahul Dev, who had worked with SS Rajamouli on Simhadri, revealed people used to ask him, 'Who is SS Rajamouli' when they worked together in 2003.
During an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, Rahul Dev recalled doing 32 Telugu movies down South. He even mentioned that he has worked with great directors like Prabhudeva, Raghava Lawrence and SS Rajamouli in the South. Rahul revealed that, back then, people were unaware of SS Rajamouli when they worked together.
"I did a film with Mr [SS] Rajamouli, who later on made such a big film, Baahubali. I used to tell people about Rajamouli ji, then. And at that time, they would ask, 'Kaun hain yaar SS Rajamouli?' They were not aware of him and today they want to sign him left, right and centre. Everybody is dying to work with him," revealed Rahul.
Rahul even revealed how he was judged for working in the South film industry. "When I used to tell people earlier [that I work in the South], they would say, 'Kya yaar, tu vaha kaam karta hai!' Today, everybody is working there. Ajay [Devgn] is working there and so is [Amitabh] Bachchan Sahab. Akshay [Kumar] did a film with Rajinikanth ji. And I worked with Rajinikanth ji in 2007-2008. With Rajinikanth ji, the film didn't release, but it was India's largest animation project with Reliance. His daughter Soundarya was directing it. We shot 70 per cent of the film," Rahul revealed.
