Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's Satyanarayan Ki Katha has now been renamed to Satyaprem Ki Katha. The first-look of the film has also been released.
In was in July 2021 that the makers of Satyanarayan Ki Katha announced that they are undergoing a title change. The director of the film, Sameer Vidwans, issued a statement to announce the change. It said that the title was changed to avoid hurting sentiments, even if that's purely unintentional. The Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer has finally got a new title now, which is Satyaprem Ki Katha. Taking to Instagram, Kartik also shared the first-look from the film.
In the upcoming film, Kartik Aaryan will essay the role of SatyaPrem while Kiara Advani will be seen as Katha. Kartik posted the first-look from the film on Instagram in which he is seen holding Kiara in his arms. Both of them close their eyes as they share a warm embrace. In the photo, Kiara is seen wearing a white outfit while Kartik looks handsome in a grey shirt and black jacket. He also added background music to the post. Sharing it, he wrote, "Happy Birthday Katha!! Tumhaara (Your) SatyaPrem (red heart emoji) #SatyapremKiKatha @kiaraaliaadvani (sic)." Kartik had shared the post on Kiara's birthday.
The statement by director Sameer Vidwans read, “A title of the film is something that emerges organically through the creative process. We have taken a decision to change the title of our recently announced film 'Satyanarayan ki Katha' to avoid hurting sentiments, even if that's purely unintentional. Producers of the film and the creative team also are in complete support of this decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story in the due course of our journey. Sincerely, Sameer Vidwans (sic)."

Satnarayan Ki Katha got embroiled in a controversy in Madhya Pradesh. Hinduist organisation, Sanskriti Bachao Manch, on Saturday submitted a memorandum to register a criminal case against producer Sajid Nadiadwala in different police stations of Bhopal. They also warned that if Sajid comes to Bhopal, his face will be blackened. Talking to India Today, president of Sanskriti Bachao Manch, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, alleged that for some time, efforts have been made to humiliate Hindu deities through films and Satyanarayan Ki Katha is also one of them. He added that the organisation will not tolerate any attempt being made to hurt Hindu public sentiments by producing such films.
