Karnataka minister Umesh Katti said that once PM Narendra Modi returns to power after winning the 2024 Assembly polls, the state would be split into two and Uttara (North) Karnataka would become a separate state.
Karnataka minister Umesh Katti stoked controversy on Thursday, June 23 by saying that once Narendra Modi returns to power after the 2024 elections, the state will be divided into two. He added that talks are underway to create a total of 50 states in the country.
Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister Umesh Katti said that it was true that they wanted Uttara Kannada to be a separate state. He added that once PM Modi returned to power after winning the 2024 Assembly polls, Karnataka and Maharashtra would be split into two, while Uttar Pradesh would be divided into four.
“It is not our party's stand but it should definitely happen this time. Let us all unite and make this happen. After the upcoming 2024 elections, PM Modi will return to power. Maharashtra will be divided into two, Karnataka will also be divided into two, and Uttar Pradesh will be divided into four. There are talks to create 50 states in total. Uttar Kannada should become a separate state," said minister Umesh Katti.
