
Karnataka universities urged to defer degree exams by one month considering Covid-19

The Karnataka government has urged the universities in the state to postpone degree examinations by one month.
The vice chancellors of universities in Karnataka have been requested by the Karnataka government to consider postponing the semester examinations of degree courses by a month in view of the third Covid-19 wave.
Department of Higher Education Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik said in a press release on Wednesday that the Vice Chancellors of all universities have been requested to take a decision on deferring the examinations in view of the incomplete syllabus.
He further informed that the portions remained incomplete as physical classes had to be suspended considering the third Covid-19 wave.
In a statement, Additional Chief Secretary G Kumar Naik said,"Some of the universities had already announced the schedule of semester examinations but the Commissioner of Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE) had written a letter asking to postpone the examinations by a month in order to enable students to better prepare."
