Karnataka Police lodge FIR against three over attack on ABVP students in Kalaburagi

Two ABVP students were attacked by three while returning from Ram Navami celebrations on Sunday. A case has been registered against those involved.
Two students part of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) cadre were attacked by another group of students in Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Sunday. The students identified as Narendra and Vishwanath were returning from Ram Navami celebrations when they were reportedly thrashed.
According to reports, Narendra and Vishwanath were on their way back when they were stopped by Rahul and two others. A heated argument between the students ended up with Rahul and his friends thrashing the ABVP student activists.
A case has been registered at Narona Police Station based on the complaint filed by the duo. IPC Sections 341, 323, 324, 506, 504, 307 have been invoked.

Following the attack on Sunday, ABVP activists staged a protest at the university where the students study. Both ABVP and Dalit Sangha have submitted memorandums to the registrar of their university.
In a separate incident, clashes were reported at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi after students owing allegiance to the ABVP allegedly stopped Left-leaning students from eating non-vegetarian food on Ram Navami. ABVP refuted the allegation and said it did not have any objection to non-veg food.
