
Karnataka Police arrests 2 more accused in police sub-inspector recruitment scam

Two more accused have been arrested by the Karnataka Police in connection with the Police Sub-inspector recruitment scam. One of them is the auditor of accused Rudra Gowda Patil, while the other is Prabhu, a candidate who cheated in the exam with a bluetooth device.
The Karnataka Police has arrested 2 more accused, the auditor of an accused and a candidate who had allegedly cheated, in connection with the Police Sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment scam. Earlier, on Monday, May 2, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) had arrested 12 people from Bengaluru for large-scale cheating.
The auditor of accused, Rudra Gowda Patil, is one of the accused. The other is Prabhu, a candidate who cheated in the exam with a Bluetooth device.
The Karnataka Police Crime Branch, Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) has arrested Chandrakant Kulkarni, the auditor of Rudra Gowda Patil, who is also an accused in the PSI recruitment scam. The CID also arrested a candidate, Prabhu, who allegedly used a Bluetooth device to cheat during the exam. It's alleged he had paid Chandrakant Kulkarni to assist him in cheating.
Another accused in the scam, Darshan, is said to have links with a person named Satish. The Karnataka Congress party alleged that Satish was the brother of minister CN Ashwathnarayan. However, the minister has rubbished these allegations.
Over 30 people have been taken into custody by the CID. This includes candidates, middlemen and invigilators.
The CID arrested 12 people from Bengaluru on Monday, May 2, for large-scale cheating in last year’s police sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment exams in centres. The 12 people were said to have passed the PSI recruitment exams and are currently spending 10 days in police custody.
Earlier, on April 29, five people, including the main accused BJP leader Divya Hagaragi, were arrested in Pune last week.
