Karnataka leads in implementing Ayushman Bharat scheme, work continues despite Covid-19: Sudhakar

While the health department is focused more on controlling Covid-19 at the time the government is also facing a revenue crunch due to the economic slowdown.
Karnataka has emerged as the leading state in establishing Health & wellness centres under the Ayushman Bharat Program to provide comprehensive primary health care in rural areas in 2020-21. The Department of Health has achieved significant growth in working under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, exceeding the target of 2,263 HWC. The state government has upgraded 3,300 centres till March 31. While the Centre had given the target of upgrading 2,096 PHC to HWC, 2168 have been upgraded. Meanwhile, 364 PHCs have been upgraded as against the set target of 294 by the Centre. With the objective of providing quality health care for all under the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka scheme, all PHCs are being upgraded under the National Health Mission.More Related News
