Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has ordered a probe into the allegations of kickbacks to ministers in awarding contracts for development works.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has ordered a probe into the allegations of kickbacks to ministers in awarding contracts for development works. This comes after the Congress approached Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot with its complaint. CM Bommai, however, said the probe into the tenders of civil works would also cover those awarded during the Congress’s tenure in Karnataka.
Bommai said, “Considering the Congress party's special interest in the percentage [of kickbacks] in tenders of civil works, tenders approved during their regime too would be subjected to probe.”
