Karnataka govt forms 5-member committee to track foreigners 'overstaying' in India

The Karnataka government has formed a five-member committee to track "missing foreigners who are found overstaying in India".
In response to a request from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to all states, the Karnataka government has formed a five-member committee to "find missing foreigners who are found overstaying in India since January 1, 2011." As per the order issued, the principal secretary (prisons, crimes and auxiliary services) of the state will be in-charge of the committee. The other members of the committee include the foreigners' regional registration officer (FRRO), superintendent of police (state intelligence), superintendents of police from the districts concerned and a representative of the National Informatics Centre (national immigration, visa and foreigners registration and tracking).More Related News
