Karnataka govt announced a two-day state mourning in memory of Lata Mangeshkar.
Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai conveyed his grief to the family of Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away at the age of 92 due to prolonged illness in Mumbai on Sunday.
The CM spoke to Usha Mangeshkar, sister of the legendary singer, over a call to convey his condolences.
"Lata Mangeshkar will live in the hearts of the people for generations. We have lost a great singer," the CM told Usha Mangeshkar over the phone.

State mourning
The Karnataka government has ordered state mourning for two days as a mark of respect for Lata Mangeshkar.
"There will be no public recreational programmes and the national flag will fly at half-mast during the mourning period," a state government notification said.
