The Karnataka Assembly held its Budget session for 2022 on Friday, March 4. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai presented the state budget 2022-23 in the legislative assembly. The outlay of the budget is Rs 2.6 lakh crore.
The CM, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, presented his maiden Budget at the Karnataka Assembly. The 19-day session will conclude on March 30. With just a year left for the Assembly polls, this is probably the last full-fledged budget ahead of the elections.
Use of farm machinery: To reduce fuel expenditure burden, the state diesel subsidy will be given at Rs 250 per acre under a new scheme for which 500 crore will be provided.
Launch Punyakoti Dattu Yojana: To encourage public and private institutions to adopt cows in the gaushala by paying 11,000 rupees annually.
Namma clinics in major cities: These will be established in all wards of Bengaluru. In these clinics, services like detection of non-communicable diseases and referral to higher treatment specialists will be provided.
Mekedatu balancing reservoir and Bengaluru drinking water project: These will be implemented by getting required clearances from the appropriate authority of the central government. A grant of Rs 1,000 crore will be provided in the current year.
NEET coaching: To provide opportunities for poor children to enter medical colleges, the state will provide coaching for Neet exams in all taluks.
