Karanvir Bohra calls Saisha Shinde 'he' on Lock Upp, gets slammed by inmates

In the previous episode of Lock Upp, Karanvir Bohra referred to Saisha Shinde, who is a transgender, as 'he'. This angered the other inmates who slammed Karanvir.
It was in 2021 that Saisha Shinde came out as a trans woman after her sex reassignment surgery. The popular fashion designer was formerly known as Swapnil Shinde. Ever since, she has talked about her struggles to get acceptance in the society as a trans woman. In the previous episode of Lock Upp, she got up in a rather offensive situation when co-contestant Karanvir Bohra addressed her as 'he'. This angered the other inmates in the jail. However, it was a slip of tongue and Saisha forgave Karanvir.
In the previous episode of Lock Upp, Saisha Shinde was complaining about making the inmates suffer by shutting down the smoking room. “You can't do this to us,” she said in front of the camera. Karanvir Bohra, who was also present there, tried to calm her down. However, by mistake, he referred to Saisha as ‘he’ which annoyed her. “First and foremost, it's not he, it's she,” she clarified.
Nisha Rawal witnessed this exchange and said that everyone should mind their words while addressing Saisha. Munawar Faruqui tried to shut her down saying that the issue shouldn’t be exaggerated because it triggers Saisha. However, Nisha went on saying that Saisha gets extremely hurt and finds it difficult to confront everyone about it. “She is being choked,” Nisha said.
After a while, Saisha said, “I’m glad this happened. Because now they can see that a trans woman can go through so much pain just for something as simple as ‘he/she’." She gave examples and tried to explain how these things trigger her. Saisha later sat down with Karanvir and shared, “You know my mom calls me Swapnil sometimes, a lot of time. Now if I can understand my mother’s agony, I can completely understand. So, wo slip of tongue ki wajah se hota hai, wo sab mujhe pata hai.”
