Police are probing the role of the owner of Roma Printers, who printed copies of ‘bazaar bandh’ pamphlets for the main accused of the Kanpur violence.
Hours after the arrest of the owner of Roma Printers, who printed copies of ‘bazaar bandh’ pamphlets for the main accused of the Kanpur violence, Hayat Zafar Hashmi, police are probing his role in the clashes.
Kanpur Joint Commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari said, “We are analysing printing press owner Shankar Lal Ramani’s intentions, whether it was mala fide or not. Steps will be taken after investigation.”
Tiwari said a total of 50 people have been arrested so far.
The senior police official said more arrests will follow.
“We are making sure no innocent is arrested or troubled,” the police officer added.
He said more posters with photographs of more rioters will be published after identification.
“Some minors might have been picked on the basis of their identification from footage, after investigation we will see it and deal accordingly,” Tiwari said.
