A Kanpur man sought leave for two days to make amends with his wife. 'I am hurt,' he wrote in his leave application.
A Kanpur government official sent a letter to a higher official seeking two-day leave to make amends with his disgruntled wife. The leave letter, written by a clerk, has since gone viral.
Shamsad Ahmed wrote a letter to Prem Nagar's Block Development Officer (BDO) detailing why he needed the urgent leave.
According to Ahmed, he had a dispute with his wife following which she took their children and went to her maternal home.
Ahmed stated in his letter that he wanted to make amends and bring her back.
"I am hurt. I have to go to her village to persuade her to return. Please accept my leave application," the letter written in Hindi read.
The BDO approved the now-viral leave application, and Ahmed can take a break from work and resolve the dispute with his wife.
