Kanniyakumari SP strengthens border surveillance, vows swift action against illegal activities, drug users, and installs speedometers for safety.
Kanniyakumari Superintendent of Police R. Stalin said that the checkpost and surveillance on the Tamil Nadu- Kerala border in Kanniyakumari district would be strengthened to prevent the illegal dumping of waste from Kerala into the district.
He made this statement during a press briefing with the media on Monday. In the meeting he mentioned that swift actions would be taken against illegal activities, including actions against the drug users and sellers in the district.
Mr. Stalin emphasised that the public grievance will be addressed within 15 days of filing a complaint. He stated that the heavy vehicles entering the city already have restricted movement times, and action is being taken to install speedometers to prevent the accidents in future.
He also noted that the public can meet him directly at the SP office between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Additionally, he announced a WhatsApp number 8122223319 for the public to register their complaints.

The Socio Economic and Educational Survey (caste census) report, accepted by the Karnataka government on Friday, has proposed an increase in reservation to other backward classes (OBCs) from the existing 32% to 51 %. This would result in total reservation in the State going up to 85%, including 10% to the economically weaker sections (EWS) and 24% to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
