'Kacha Badam' singer Bhuban Badyakar's idol became an instant hit during Holi celebrations in Kolkata.
The internet's love for the viral Bengali song 'Kacha Badam' shows no signs of abating.
From celebrities to teenagers, the song has made people groove to its catchy tune and now a life-size idol of him is on display at a ‘Gopal Puja’ pandal in North Kolkata during the Holi festival.
Parimal Paul, an artist from Kumartuli created the 5.5-foot-tall Badyakar idol for 'Gopal Puja.'
"This year, Bengal is commemorating Bhuban Badyakar. As a result, I decided to make an idol of him. It took me four days," said Paul.
"It has been decided that the idol will be placed in my studio at Kumartuli after the week-long festival of Gopal Puja is over," Paul added.
Doljatra in Bengal is incomplete without Gopal puja. The city-based clay modellers in Kumartuli observed the festival with greater zeal than Durga Puja, with events such as Balok Bhojan, Jatra, and cultural programmes planned.
