The Taliban did come to the Gurudwaras but they didn't say much. They didn't say anything to the Hindus and the Sardars (Sikhs). But we wanted to leave the place since the situation in many areas, especially near the airports, is bad." When asked how many more Indians and how many from the Sikh Sanghat are still stranded in Afghanistan, Mr Singh said, "At least 170-180 people are still stranded there, including Hindus and Sikhs. We would request the government of India to please evacuate them as well. We won't go back to Afghanistan." "When we left the place, we saw a lot of fights and that is why we wanted to leave. There was a lot of firing which created fear. That is why we left and came here," Kulraj Singh and Himmat Singh told NDTV.More Related News
