Jose Mourinho to take over as Serie A club AS Roma manager from 2021-22 season

Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last month, will return to Italy after a 10-year gap as he will take over as the manager of AS Roma from the 2021-22 season.

Italian side AS Roma on Tuesday announced that Jose Mourinho will take over as their manager from the 2021-22 season. The decision comes hours after they said coach Paulo Fonseca will leave his role at the end of the current campaign. Notably, Jose Mourinho was sacked as the coach of Tottenham Hotspur in April, after 17 months in charge of the London-based Premier League side. Spurs were top of the league in December before they dropped down the standings that led to the sacking of Mourinho.
