The president has one consistent strategy when it comes to accountability: avoiding it.
“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart spent Monday night’s opening monologue giving government workers a few strategies for how to dodge DOGE layoffs with lessons straight from President Donald Trump and his administration.
And when it comes to Trump, Stewart said job security “clearly doesn’t come from the quality of your work. but the ass-iness of your kisses.”
What followed was a masterclass in how the Trump administration handled the Signal group messaging scandal with strategies such as blaming former President Joe Biden, pointing the finger at coworkers and attacking the media.
But the top strategy of all came from Trump himself.
Stewart showed video of Trump promising to bring “honor and integrity and accountability back” and quoting President Harry S. Truman, saying “the buck stops here.”
