Joe Root continued his rich vein of form in the second Test against India at Lord's as he became the fastest England player and second from his country to cross 9000 runs in Test cricket.
Joe Root on Saturday became the second England player after his former captain Alastair Cook to cross 9000 runs in Test cricket. Root crossed the mark in his 197th Test innings, making him the fastest England batsman to do so with Cook having crossed the mark in his 204th innings. Root scored his 22nd Test hundred, and the second of the series, on Day 3 of the second Test against India at Lord's. He brought up the three-figure score in the 82nd over in the second session as England reached 236 for 4, still 128 runs behind India's first-innings score of 364.More Related News
