All 10 accused in the JNU sedition case have appeared before Delhi Patiala House Court. In its chargesheet in the case, the Delhi Police claimed that treasonous sloganeering was raised at the JNU campus under the leadership of Kanhaiya Kumar on February 9, 2016.
Ten people accused in the 2016 Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) sedition case will be produced in Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma directed Delhi Police to supply chargesheet and other case-related documents to Kanhaiya Kumar and all the other accused. Taking note of the chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police, all the accused including Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya were ordered to appear before the court. The Delhi Police has claimed in the chargesheet filed in the court that treasonous sloganeering was raised at the JNU campus under the leadership of Kanhaiya Kumar on February 9, 2016 in favour of Afzal Guru — who was convicted for his role in the 2001 Parliament attack and hanged in 2013 — on his death anniversary.More Related News
