Jharkhand government has decided to form district-level committees to deal with cases of mob lynching. The state has been in the limelight since the 2019 mob lynching of Tabrez Ansari. Just earlier this month, two separate cases of mob lynching were reported from the state less than a week apart. The first was the case of Sachin Verma followed by the mob lynching of one Mubarak in Ranchi. In 2018, the Supreme Court had directed state governments to constitute a committee and appoint a nodal officer to monitor instances of mob lynching.More Related News
