Kolkata Police arrested a Jharkhand-based drug dealer from whose possession banned narcotics worth Rs 6 crore were recovered on Friday.
The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police apprehended a Jharkhand-based drug dealer from whose possession banned narcotics worth Rs 6 crore were recovered on Friday.
Based on a tip-off, at around 3.15 pm on February 25, the anti-FICN team of STF intercepted a Jharkhand-based drug dealer at the Seven Tanks Lane under Sinthi Police Station along with a huge quantity of brown powder-like substance, likely to be heroin, weighing about 1.341 kg, from his possession, which was kept hidden inside his vehicle.
The market value of the seized heroin is estimated to be Rs 6.7 crore in the international grey market.
The accused was identified as 46-year-old Pran Basak alias Prem of Sahebganj in Jharkhand.
A case was registered under the NDPS Act against the accused.
