Clashes broke out in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga after stones were pelted during the Shobha Yatra organised on Ram Navami on Sunday.
At least four people were injured after clashes broke out in Hirhi area of Lohardaga district in Jharkhand after incidents of stone pelting during Shobha Yatra. Several motorcycles and a pickup van were also consigned to flames during the violence that erupted on Sunday, April 10.
As per reports, stones were pelted during the Shobha Yatra organised on Ram Navami on the border of Hirhi-Hendlaso-Kujra village of Lohardaga. In retaliation, the people involved in the procession also reportedly threw stones.
Four people are reported to have been injured in the incident. Of these, the condition of two people-- Manohar Sahu and Bhola Singh-- is said to be critical. The injured have been rushed to the hospital.
Following the incident, a large number of police forces were deployed at the spot. Lohardaga DC, SP, Campaign DSP, Sadar station in-charge are camping on the spot, along with the police force. Efforts are being made to negotiate a settlement with both the parties. The situation remains tense, with people demanding arrest of those who attacked the Shobha Yatra.

The place where the incident took place is just 5 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das strongly condemned the violent incident that took place at the Ram Navami fair in Lohardaga. He said that this is the second incident targeting the majority community in Lohardaga in the last two years.
